current projects:

vegetation phenology

My work in Texas has focused on the phenological implications of land management across public and private land tenures. Bridging in situ fieldwork with remotely sensed imagery, I've identified distinct trends across vegetation cover types. These divides are especially notable in a state where 97% of land is privately-held.

sustainable landscapes

The critically threatened Texas Blackland Prairies ecoregion presents a powerful natural laboratory for understand large-scale land use transformations. My research has investigated novel conditions across this system brought on by agricultural and residential development.

citizen science

The advent of citizen science research platforms has generated an immense wealth of opportunistic species distribution data. My interests in volunteered geographic information (VGI) have spanned exotic game and non-native grasses across Texas. Future pursuits include work on soundscapes and utilizing VGI collected via social media platforms.
